Controls

Controls hosts and guests can rely on

  • Private storage

Uploads are stored privately and served through short-lived, event-scoped links. Galleries are never publicly listable.

  • PIN-protected event access

Hosts can lock events behind a PIN so only invited guests can upload or view the camera page. Hosts use email magic-link sign-in for the dashboard.

  • Host-controlled gallery visibility

Uploads are hidden from other guests until the host opens the shared gallery. Hosts can hide and re-show the gallery at any point.

  • Host & guest deletion

Hosts can delete any photo or entire event from the dashboard. Guests can delete their own uploads from the same phone they uploaded from.

  • No advertising or behavioural tracking

PicShots uses only strictly-necessary cookies for authentication and session state. There is no ad network, no cross-site tracking, and no behavioural profiling.

  • Limited account data

Host accounts store only an email address (for magic-link sign-in) and basic timestamps. Guests do not need an account at all.

Data handling

How long photos live and who can access them

Storage location. Uploads are stored privately and served via short-lived, event-scoped links. Galleries are never publicly listable.

Retention. Upload and gallery hosting windows depend on your event plan (see pricing). Free events: 14 days for guest uploads and 90 days of gallery hosting after the event date. Paid events: 90 days to upload and about 12 months hosted. After hosting ends, hosts have a 30-day grace period to download a ZIP or delete the event; then photos and videos are removed automatically. Hosts can also delete individual uploads or an entire event from the dashboard at any time.

Guest control. A guest can delete their own uploads from the same device they uploaded from, without contacting the host.

No advertising. PicShots does not sell, share, or use uploads for advertising or model training. The product makes money only from event payments.

For full data-handling details, see the privacy policy.
