Why we built it

Most events end the same way: the host says “send me your photos!” and two days later, half the candids are stuck on guests’ phones in messy group chats. We wanted something simpler than disposable cameras, less needy than shared albums, and friendlier than asking every guest to install yet another app.

What PicShots is

A web-based guest camera. Hosts create an event in minutes, share a link or QR code, and every guest gets a disposable-style photo roll on their own phone — no app install, no account, no chasing. Photos collect into a shared gallery the host controls.

What PicShots is not

  • It is not a replacement for a professional photographer.
  • It is not a print-on-demand or photo-booth hardware product.
  • It does not run advertising or behavioural tracking.
  • It does not require guests to download anything.

Principles

What we believe about event photos

  • Web-first, no app install

Guests should never download an app to take a photo. The whole flow runs in the mobile browser, on the phone already in their hand.

  • Hosts control the gallery

Uploads are private by default. Hosts decide when guests can see the shared gallery and which photos belong in it.

  • Disposable-style limits keep it candid

A per-guest shot limit preserves the playful constraint of a disposable camera. Less spam, more memorable photos.

  • Pay once per event, not per user

No subscriptions, no per-photo charges. Free for small events, with paid tiers that scale by expected guest count.
